On Permanence
Tattoos are permanent signs on extremely perishable and on short notice surfaces, our bodies.  On Permanence starts from the desire to narrate this contradiction through the bodies and faces of the people who decided to embody their
thinking, to modify their meat to express  the inner side.
Out of the "cheap" stereotype of the "beach tattoos" and "fashion tattoos" and beyond the colorful images from the trade magazines, I chose to portrait people who made tattoo a way of life and a personal research. A way to personify that fight against nature and against the little time we have.

This project is inspired by the amazing work Imogen Cunningham made with Irene "Bobbie" Libarry during the last years of their lives.
