Handcoloring black & white

Handcoloring (also known as handtinting) has been around for nearly as long as photography itself, and first gained its popularity as the ONLY way to make a color photograph. Now, with color photography so firmly entrenched, many people find it very odd that anyone still handcolors photographs. From time to time I'm asked, "Why go to all that trouble when you could just shoot color film?
